Inclusion policy in higher university education: Scholarship permanence and student welfare in Peru

Abstract

The objective of the article is to determine the association of the Permanence Scholarship Program (PBP) with the economic security, academic performance and academic stress of the scholarship holders of National University of the Altiplano. The applied method is quantitative, whose design is non-experimental and the level of correlational analysis. A stratified sample was used with 146 scholarship holders from 35 professional schools, to whom an ad hoc questionnaire was applied, the data was processed and analyzed in the SPSS v.26 Software. As a result, it has been determined that there is a moderate positive correlation between the variables studied. Therefore, the PBP as a policy of inclusion in university higher education directly contributes to the professional training of young people from vulnerable socioeconomic sectors.
