Abstract

Using data from a survey applied to graduates of a state public university in Mexico, the article characterizes the quality of the employment they obtain in the labor market. Using multivariate methods, three indices constructed that assess working conditions and remuneration to address the quality of occupations and the factors that determine it. We find that the proportion that has a job with the characteristics defined as desirable is relatively low and that a third holds positions that are not in line with their education. The main influencing factors found are position, economic sector, area of study and additional education.
