The National Technology of Mexico, research profiles and Academic Bodies

Abstract

The article analyzes the academics profiles and the academics groups of the Technologic National of Mexico (TECNM). The conceptual and methodological framework used is the sociological neo-institutionalism of March and Olsen (1997), Powell and Dimaggio (1999). The results indicate that in the TECNM the academics profiles and the academic groups have grown considerably. However, there is still a large number of Federal Technological and Decentralized Technological Institutes and Regional Centers that do not have academics profiles and academic groups. Which means that the TECNM is still a higher education institution focused mainly on teaching.
