Abstract

The article builds the object of study (retention and academic success) by reviewing the contributions of specialists, international and national. It analyzes them, mainly about vulnerable students, based on the case of Polytechnic Universities (UP). It describes the institutional sectoral actions aimed at promoting their permanence and certification. It studies the battery of interventions that the UPs have applied to remove academic, cultural, psychological, and economic barriers faced by first-generation and disadvantaged students, which limit their chances of completing their studies.
