The abilities of the educational evaluator

Abstract

Based on an extensive literary review, this article aims to identify the key skills that any professional who conducts educational evaluations must have. Some of the main abilities identified and discussed in this paper are interpersonal and communication skills, research methods, data analysis, project management, professional ethics, and knowledge of the social context and of the object under evaluation. The article concluded with some useful suggestions for those who are in charge of evaluation programs or who train educational evaluators.
