Current reality of career choice from a gender perspective

Abstract
The present investigation breaks down a first section where a historical recovery of higher education by gender is made from the theoretical - deductive approach. In a second section, a quantitative analysis of the enrollment of higher education is developed from longitudinal and transectional cuts, with data at the national level and by federal entities. From this, a gender equality is obtained in the university but only in a quantitative way and in certain States, therefore it is possible to identify the ideological tendency and the areas of greater preference for one or the other gender.
