Abstract

The central purpose of this study is to account for trends in autonomy and emancipation of career students and their individual perspectives on family and future expectations as young adults. A correlational cross-sectional investigation was carried out, with a simple random sample of 342 participants, from the application of a structured instrument at a public university in the Colombian northeast. It highlights the existence of a high family, economic and affective dependence, which decreases the young person's chances of autonomy and creates a negative perception about the possibilities of emancipation.
